How to buy handmade with confidence

A practical checklist for reading listings, understanding lead times, and reviewing delivery costs before you commit.

Read the whole listing

Materials, dimensions, care guidance, production time, and customization notes can all affect whether an object suits your needs. Treat customization descriptions as information unless the seller has provided a separate way to discuss details.

Stock shows whether an item can currently be ordered. A production time describes preparation, not delivery time.

Know who made it

Open the maker profile from the product page and compare its active listings. Handmade only displays shops currently marked active, but each purchase decision remains yours.

Review delivery before confirmation

Orders begin with the product subtotal. The seller quotes delivery separately. Review and explicitly accept that quote before the seller can confirm the order. A missing quote does not mean free delivery.

Payment is cash on delivery. A delivered status does not by itself mean payment has been recorded.
